Assistance publique – Hôpitaux de Paris (Paris, France)
Assistance Publique – Hopitaux de Paris is the Paris’s area medical centre. 37 hospitals divided into 12 hospital groups among which Hopitaux Universitaires Paris Ouest includes Hopital europeen Georges Pompidou (HEGP), Corentin Celton Cardiac rehabilitation programme is provide in Corentin Celton Hospital. Cardiac Rehabilitation and secondary prevention department is one of the leaders in this sub specialty of cardiology in France. The department has capacities for in and out patients care: 40 hospitalized beds, and 20 ambulatory patients. Professionals of the department include cardiologists, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, dietician, and social workers.
Dr Marie Christine Iliou, Team Leader France
Dr Marie Christine Iliou is Head of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention Department since 2007. She is President (2012-2014) of the French working group of exercise, rehabilitation and sport cardiology of French Society of Cardiology and member from 2003. Beside her membership of the EACPR, she is the national coordinator of cardiovascular prevention (2012-today) in France and elected Nuclei member of Cardiac Rehabilitation section of EACPR of ESC (2014-today). Marie Christine Iliou published 55 articles in peer reviewed journals and gave a lot of presentations in international congresses.
Region Hovedstaden (Copenhagen, Denmark)
Region Hovedstaden is the coordinating centre of several hospitals and healthcare organisations on which Bispebjerg Hospital, University of Copenhagen is one of. This university hospital and the department of cardiology is the largest hospital in Denmark with a catchment population of approximately 500.000 and the cardiac rehabilitation unit is the largest and nationally leading cardiac rehabilitation unit. The research centre of cardiovascular research has main focus on research in cardiac prevention and rehabilitation mainly through clinical and epidemiological studies.
Prof. Eva Prescott, Team Leader Denmark
Prof. Eva Prescott is professor and head of research at the Department of Cardiology, Bispebjerg Hospital, University of Copenhagen. She has considerable experience in initiating and conducting cardiac rehabilitation clinical trials. She is currently chair of the section on Prevention, Epidemiology and population science under the European Society of Cardiology and member of the congress programme committee for the ESC. She is the co-author of more than 150 original papers.
Stiftung Institut für Herzinfarktforschung (Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany)
The Institut für Herzinfarktforschung (IHF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the improvement of cardiac care in Germany. It performs prospective registries and randomized clinical trials in all cardiac indications. It is the largest organization of its kind in Germany. It has a long-standing record in cardiac reserach with over 400 publications related to research performed by IHF.
Prof. Uwe Zeymer, Team Leader Germany
Prof. Uwe Zeymer is internist, cardiologist, with interest in emergency medicine and sports medicine. As head of the department, he is responsible for cardiac catheterization laboratory and the clinical trials. Prof. Zeymer’s scientific work includes clinical studies in the treatment of acute coronary syndromes and interventional cardiology.

The Hospital Clínico Universitario de Santiago de Compostela (CHUS) is the main Hospital in SERGAS network. SERGAS is a public institution that provides healthcare services in the region of Galicia. About 38,000 professionals work at SERGAS which is considered the biggest organization in Galicia.

He is director of cardiology group at Health Research Institute (IDIS). He has participated in more than 50 clinical trials and published more than 400 publications.

Dr Carlos Peña-Gil is cardiologist at CHUS SERGAS and has more than 30 publications.

Dr. Arnoud van ‘t Hof
Dr. Arnoud van ‘t Hof is project coordinator of EU-CaRE and leader of work package 1 (project management). Dr. Arnoud van ‘t Hof is interventional cardiologist at Isala Heart Centre (Zwolle, The Netherlands). He has long-standing research interest in cardiovascular medicine, particularly in the field of primary angioplasty and acute coronary syndromes, with special interest in pre-hospital diagnosis and triage in the ambulance. He has (co-) chaired international multicentre trials in this field. Dr. Arnoud van ‘t Hof is a member of the working group of acute cardiac care and the working group of thrombosis of the ESC. He is an elected fellow of the ESC. He has authored over 200 publications in peer- reviewed cardiovascular journals.
Dr. Astrid van der Velde
Dr. Astrid van der Velde is leader of work package 3 (RCT) and deputy project manager (work package 1) of EU-CaRE. Dr. Astrid van der Velde is employed as medical practice manager at Isala Heart Centre (Zwolle, The Netherlands). She holds an MSc in nutrition & health and a PhD in medicine. Dr. Astrid van der Velde has been previously involved in the European 6th and 7th framework programme and versatile research projects. She has won multiple (inter)national awards.

The University Clinic for Cardiology of the Inselspital Bern is the largest tertiary referral centre for patients with cardiovascular diseases in Switzerland. The core competence is the complete spectrum of modern cardiology ranging from interventional therapies, electrophysiology, heart failure, congenital heart disease, to preventive cardiology and rehabilitation.

He is Nucleus member of the Secondary Prevention and Cardiac Rehabilitation Section of the EAPC-ESC.
